I have no idea how to setup the portfolio (Exhibit) as the my front page.

In order to set up some of demos,the best way is to import demo. In order to achieve that, go to Elated Options > Import and set everything as I marked here https://www.screencast.com/t/UYIAw2DARmB. Then go to Settings > Reading and set Exhibit as a static front page https://www.screencast.com/t/QLVA0rHBKL
