I am trying to get the search page (without map, but also with map) to be able to search in this order >>  Listing Type (titled as category even though it is not): Listing Category (For some reason non existent): Listing Location.  Not use keywords as a filter.  Possibly a filter for custom meta fields, such as day open.

I'm working in a modified copy of the page template "advanced-search-without-map.php" for testing, as your theme isn't designed with this feature in mind, (unless i am missing something)

I was able to hide keywords.

I was able to rename category to type.

I was able to populate new category field i added.

So without adding a custom meta filter i can get it to show TYPE > CATEGORY > LOCATION.

However.  Changing category has no effect on filtering results.  Nor does it have the filter selections by typing partial.  I am assuming there is JS or AJAX involved that i can not seem to locate where the code is to adjust.

Is there an easy solution to this or can you point me to where the code is to modify that renders the new URL generated by the form selections

    EX: http://visithudsonny.com/test/?keywords=&location=600+Block&type=Stores

    Keyword not needed... category missing...

don't know where in code this url is constructed

I can get search results to open a category if i type the value manually.

    EX: http://visithudsonny.com/test/?location=600+Block&type=Stores&category=Antiques
