Hi is there a list of the idea photo sizes for the different part of you template.
My question is more specifically related to the spotlight homepage template. When I replace the existing photos with mine they get extremely zoomed in. I understand that they are probably too large for the space, but I dont want to go by trial an error.
Also Is the brush stroke effect for the brushstroke template page made into Revolution Slider or with something entirely different? I like the effet but was wondering If I could do modification, ex color and/or timing.
There is no strict specification for images, however you can check images size that we used in our demo and make your images according to that. Since you have imported our demo you have imported megs too, just go to Media > Library https://www.screencast.com/t/99fOcPPCm and there are displayed all the images, just click on desired one and than see it's dimensions https://www.screencast.com/t/sxEGbx0JfEz.
For the brushstroke effect you can see in the back-end of the page when you scroll down to Elated General that it is actually Revolution Slider named Home 3 https://www.screencast.com/t/mAJZVXNfdy so just go to Revolution Slide > Revolution Slider and click on desired Slider, in your case Home 3, and there will be plenty of different options and customization for slider.

Did not perfectly worked even after resizing to the exact same dimensions. IT's always a bit zoomed in. Any other Suggestions?

We can not reproduce the issue. As you can see from this example the image holder https://www.screencast.com/t/LoxrNFkks8 and the actual image https://www.screencast.com/t/50WFI1DS9rL have same size so the theme is rendering images properly, so the only issue might be images related.
