Dropdown Menu Arrows

We are experiencing an error with the format for the dropdown menus we added to our website.  When we are on the Home page and we hover over the top menu bar, there are fixed arrows that appear next to all of the links in the dropdown (see attachments).  Normally, only one arrow should appear when you hover over one of the links in the dropdown.

For some strange reason, the fixed arrows only occur when we are on the Home page.  The dropdown menus appear normally (i.e., an arrow only appears when you hover over one of the links in the dropdown) when we are on any other page on the website.

Please also note that this dropdown menu issue only occurs for Windows 10 users and only in Chrome.  All other browsers and operating systems appear to work normally.

Also, please keep in mind that the links in the dropdown menus are to subsections on the same page.  The links are not to separate pages.

Do you know how to fix this problem?  We are completely out of ideas.

    Thanks so much!

Any update on this?  Our website needs to go live soon, and we can't figure out why the theme doesn't work well with Chrome on Windows 10.  Thanks.

    Hello there,

Thank you for choosing our theme and writing in.

Thank you fro clear explanation what is the issue and when it occurs. We have managed to reproduce the issue and what i causing it.

The issue is related to Menu items that are set to be links to the section within that page. So when you are on this page they are active since that page contains that rows with id you have set. That's why arrow appears, since they are in active status. Solution is to use anchors since we have created a sample ( screenshot ) where first two links are anchors and the rest of them are custom links with rowID ( not anchors ) and look at result https://www.screencast.com/t/Iq1Yvjy0Lo9 , so please just instead of RowID add AnchorID to each row https://www.screencast.com/t/Y3t6tXufzP and than go to Appearance > Menus and select that menu item and type Anchor and leave url empty https://www.screencast.com/t/kYgcR85MY1G6. In addition to desired functionality you will get smooth scroll on that page when going from section to section.

Please let us know if this solved the issue and if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Thanks.

Thanks for you response.  We just tried this solution, but it doesn't quite work.  Although it seems to remove the fixed arrows, the links in the dropdown menu don't work.  The links in the dropdown only work if we're on the same page with the anchors.  For example, if I'm on the Home page and hover my mouse over the menu for another page, the links in the dropdown don't do anything when I click on it.

Is there another step I need to follow?

    Hello there,

There is an option to make those links work anytime, even if you are not in that page, but the issue with arrows appearing will persist. IF you wan to do so, you just need to go to Appearance > Menus and for the anchored menu items apart from anchor id please paste the url of the page where those anchors are set https://www.screencast.com/t/khKfjnKKcH .

Unfortunately, those are only two options, to give up on the anchored menus and linking in the existing page or to leave it like that with expanded arrows.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Thanks.

Thanks, but my original problem had to do with Windows 10.  The dropdown menu works fine when we setup the dropdown links as row IDs rather than anchor IDs.  The fixed arrows only appear in Chrome on Windows 10.  The dropdown menu looks fine on all other browsers and operating systems.

Do you have any idea as to why we're experiencing issues with Windows 10 specifically?

    Hello,

We have faced the same issue on all browsers in our demo. The issue is that if you set URL https://www.screencast.com/t/DI5z0tbavuP to be that page where you are now it will automatically add that menu item active class an the arrow will be applied, no matter that it is actually an anchor and you are not in that section, it's important that you are on that page. So, you can either create one page design where all content will be on your one page and your anchors will work without setting URL, our you will have to give up on the anchors at all.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Thanks.
