1. After installing / activating this theme, you need to Install/activate all required plugins (+Contact Form 7 and WooCommerce if you plan to use shop). 

Then you can import the demo with our OneClick (Elated Options >> Import) or native WP importer tool (Tools >> Import >> WordPress) via XML, located in the file you downloaded from ThemeForest website / XML.

After that you can go to Appearance >> Customize >> Static Front Page and choose desired homepage (you can choose left menu home).

2. Just go to edit some existing or add a new portfolio item >> switch to Backend Editor mode and then add Text Block Element, like we did here

You can enable Visual Composer for portfolio items in Visual Composer >> Role Manager >> set Post types to Custom >> and then check the box portfolio-item.

To be able to crop your image to various predefined dimensions for masonry,each image should be properly sized. Here are the border values for each cropping variant. So you need to upload images with this dimensions or above.

portfolio_masonry_regular - 500x500 px
portfolio_masonry_wide - 1000x500 px
portfolio_masonry_tall - 500x1000 px
portfolio_masonry_large - 1000x1000 px

Then you need manual to create this mosaic and to set right image to the right place. To have the similar layout like in the demo you listed - this 'mosaic' masonry requires carefully ordered portfolio thumbnails.

When editing a single portfolio item, you can set one of four dimensions for masonry:

Regarding the blue line color, just add this css underneath in Elated Options >> General >> Custom CSS field:
