Anchor Links Not Working
Closed

    Hi,

I have been having issues with my anchor links. Sometimes they are working, and other times they don't. They are set up correctly using the Elated Anchor ID in the Row Settings. When anchoring from the navigation, I use the Anchor ID (without the #). As mentioned, they work on occasion. When I was setting them up, I knew I was inputting them correctly, but they weren't working. After a day, without making any edits, they started working. I figured everything was fixed, but today I went to test, and once again, they do not work. Can you explain what is causing this to happen? Once again, I am not making any edits to my anchor links or anything that pertains to linking. Currently, the site is set up on a dummy site and will be pushed live within the next day or so. It is imperative that we get this issue resolved asap.

    Thanks

    Hello there,

I am sorry, but there is not much I can do without being able to access your website. Please check once again if you have done everything according to this manual:

To create menu anchor links, first you have to set Anchor ID for each section (Row) that you want to create a link to. The ID should be entered in the Anchor ID field and Row ID field should be empty:

This is very important, if you use Row ID it will jump to the section instead of scrolling. Use only small letters, no spaces for IDs. Set unique Anchor ID like this for each row (section) that you want to create a link to.
After that navigate to Appearance -> Menus -> edit your menu -> add the page which contains this section to the menu and enter the appropriate anchor ID for the menu item (in the 'Anchor' field).

For each section that you want to create a link to you have to add the page which contains the section to the menu and enter appropriate anchor ID for each menu item. If there are two or more sections on the same page that you want to create links to, you have to add the same page two or more times to the menu with appropriate anchor IDs.

In case this doesn't work please provide us login details as soon as your website get online and we will take a look!

    Thank you for your understanding,

    Kind Regards,
    Norah

    Hi Noah,

Thanks for the reply. As mentioned previously, the anchor links were set up properly. What I did notice recently is that when you click on the Anchor Link, it would take you down to the correct anchor link, but it would then automatically revert back to the top of the page. As a resolution for now, we have removed the anchor links because the site is currently live, and it was creating a bad experience for anyone visiting the site.

    Thanks,

    Erin

    Hello there,

    you're welcome!

Could please try to deactivate all of your plugins to make sure they are not causing this issue. If the issue goes away, then you can enable them one by one to find out which one is causing the issue. If you still have issues after you have deactivated all of your plugins, could you please activate the anchors, send me screenshots and urls where they should appear and could you please provide us with your wp-admin details so we can log in and investigate on this further?

    Also, you

    Thank you for your understanding,

    Norah
