Since updating to Moose 2.1 the SSL is broken due to an image loaded for the footer as part of a java script. I can not however find the setting to remove the image or edit it to SSL. It is not in the custom CSS.
This issue can commonly occur when user activates SSL certificate on a website after the files have already been uploaded. Usually it comes down to removing the old images (that were uploaded during http) and uploading new ones (so they get uploaded with https). If you use google chrome developer tools console you can find list of images that are causing this issue.
Could you please be more specific about the design elements being changed?
In general, theme updates aren't changing anything in the design of the theme, they only fix bugs and add new compatibles and new versions of plugins.
We are here for all the issues that may appear caused with the theme update, just please send us url and description/screenshot of an issue you are facing.

I can't see any errors in your console:
This issue can commonly occur when user activates SSL certificate on a website after the files have already been uploaded.
Usually it comes down to removing the old images (that were uploaded during http) and uploading new ones (so they get uploaded with https).

You can also try using some SSL plugins like this one:
