WPBakery not working with Gretna Green theme

    Hello,

    I recently purchased this theme; however, it appears the packaged version of WPBakery is not working with Gretna. With WPBakery activated, it won't allow me to access any of the "Edit Page" pages. When I disable the plugin, I then have access to those pages.

    PLZ help.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    Thanks for writing in.

    Seems like the reason why you're having this issue are low server resource settings.

    Could you please try to increase these values or ask your hosting service to do it for you.

    max_execution_time = 300
    memory_limit = 128M
    upload_max_filesize = 128M
    post_max_size = 256M
    max_input_vars = 3000

    If Visual Composer won't load in the back end when you try to edit some page, please first make sure that you are using latest theme version with latest Visual Composer.

    Here is a link to the latest version of WPBakery Page Builder for WordPress (formerly Visual Composer):

    If this is not the case and you have following problems when accessing site or editing pages:

    - Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED

    - customlibEditGallery java script error in the console when you open developer tools in Google Chrome

    - not found page is displayed when editing pages

    - color Picker error

    which was confirmed several times with GoDaddy hosting plans and also with few SiteGround hosting users, and problem is hosting related and it is due to mod_security check when some robust and feature rich themes from Theme Forest is used (SiteGround first encountered this with Avada theme).

    SOLUTION IS SIMPLE:

    Add following line to WordPress .htaccess file:

    SubstituteMaxLineLength 10m You can put this line at the end of the file, after the # END WordPress line:

    If the problem persist, you can try with 50 or 100m.

    Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Thank you,
    Jerry
