i have an issue with portfolio categories: when I click on one of them it just takes me to a page with the header ARCHIVE and all the portfolio items there (with a strange layout I don't know where to edit it...) . I would like the portfolio categories to link only to the items in that category and could edit this page, I don't like the layout.
How can I do it? Is there a way to change this? Or to avoid to make it happens?

Since archive pages are part of WordPress functionality and not directly editable, you can customize them within Elated Options>Portfolio>portfolio Archive options:
