I was able to fix this problem. In the customizer options you should go to Widgets -> Footer Top Column 1 -> Brynn Horizontal Nav Menu Widget -> and then change the left and right divider menu's to the 'Footer Divided Left & Footer Divided Right' (after you already deleted the multiple menu entries in the menu options). Hope this helps out.

If you imported demo content multiple times, it's possible that you duplicated menu items several times. You should install this helpful plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-remove-menu-item/
