I've been trying for a while to put my cart and my search bar widgets in my header. in the elated header options of my page, the basket and the bar appear with all the options except with the divided layer layout...when I select this option and refresh my page, the cart and the bar are not present... Is that normal? Because it would be really strange if it worked with all header options except this one... and I would really like to have the divided pay layout on all my pages but with the shopping cart and search bar.

1)Please change your header type to Standard because Divided header does not support widgets in the header area:
2)After that put Elated Search Opener widget in the Header Widget Area:

Hello, it's annoying not to be able to have widgets in the divided header.... I find it much prettier as a home page with the divided header. So on the shop page I don't mind having a menu on the side but if customers come back to the home page after making their order, how can they see their cart with their order?
You can make some modifications to the template if you want to place it in dived header. But unfortunately, this is not in our support scope and we primarily need to focus on providing Theme Support to all customers.
We can suggest you to turn on Top bar and place that widget in the top bar widget area.
