I am not completely sure what do you want to achieve, but perhaps you would like to set transparent menu like on the screenshot:
You can do it in following way:
Please navigate to the backend of a page and set Background color to any color(but some color need to be set in order for this to work) and set transparency to 0:
As I can see there is one search field missing so you can try to paste code bellow to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS:
Perfect, I'm really happy with your attention, what is giving me problems now is that the menu text, I can not change the color and it is black no matter how much the font color changes, where could that option be?

I apologize about the belated reply - we have been getting a lot of tickets lately, and our reply times have not been as fast as we would have liked.
First we can suggest you to comment that CSS and try to deactivate all of your 3rd party plugins to make sure they are not causing this issue. If the issue goes away, then you can enable them one by one to find out which one is causing the issue. If you still have issues after you have deactivated all of your plugins, please provide a temporary admin login and I’ll take a look.
Let me know what you did and if the issue is still present so we can investigate this further more.

Are you talking about menu items color?
You can change those in Elated options > Header:
But note that, you will have to set your header skin to be Default in the page backend:
