Regarding WPBakery version, please note that using an little bit older version of a plugin won't affect yours or the work of the plugin and the end user won't experience any difficulties whatsoever. As a bundled plugin, you get the latest version with every theme update, or you can write us on ticksy and we will install the plugin for you.

regarding issues you are facing:
Please try to add following module to WordPress .htaccess file:
...after the # END WordPress:

...and try editing pages. If the problem persists, replace that line of code with the following code:

After that try to edit pages again.
