    Hey,

Is it possible to have certain elements (embedded videos) appear only for a desktop viewing of the site?

So that if someone where to see the website from their mobile device it wouldn't appear? Or could appear as an image?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Ross,

I'm sorry for the late response, it's because of the weekend days and because of the Orthodox Christmas.

It is possible with some custom CSS. Can you tell me which one? Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Marie

Any headway on this?  Having the same problem with sliders not playing video.  Anyway to use a fallback image when video is not compatible?  Theme is Chandelier.  Thank you.  www.schubachaviation.com

    Hi Ross,

You could probably achieve this by hiding the column of the embeded video with WP Bakery page builder and have another one show the image for mobile versions. You can do this by navigating to the page in question editing the column you'd like hidden > Responsive options and select the devices you'd like the colomn to be hidden on. (see image below)

If this does not work you could provide us with further details of what exactly you'd like hidden on which devices and we will provide you with the CSS code necessary to do so.

Also, it will be helpful if you could provide us with your wp-admin details(in a private ticket) so we can log in and investigate this further. Thank you in advance.

Hope this helps! If there is anything else that we can help you with please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

Hi there.  Thanks very much for the reply.  The theme used on the website by the original developer is Chandelier.  The Slider on the “Page” is not setup as shown on your screenshot.  Rather, the short code for the slider is specified on the bottom of the page in a field.  Snapshot is included below.  Can the page be setup with the top slider shown in a column as per your screenshot in order to change the appearance setting?

Not sure if the Revolution theme in your website has the same options as the Chandelier theme used in my webpage.

    Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

Yes it can be setup as in the image, note that you would have to delete the slider from the field you mention. Also you could use css code to hide the slider you already have on smaller screens. However in order to help you with this please open up a new ticket with as much information as possible. If possible please include screenshots and links to the pages in question so that we could provide you with a more precise answer.

Also it may be helpful if you could provide us with your wp-admin details(in a private ticket) so we can log in and help you with this further.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

Hey Sean. Thanks for the reply. Would you be able to show me how to insert a slider elements as shown in your screenshot? If I click the plus sign on the bakery page builder, I see an option for port folio slider but nothing for a single slider. Thank you.

    Hi again Michael,

This option is available with the revolution slider plugin downloaded and active. Please make sure you have that.

    Hope this helps.

However if there is anything else create a new ticket.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

Is the revolution slider plugin compatible with chandelier theme?  Do I have to purchase it?

    Elated replied

    Hello again Michael,

It should be compatible since we use it on our other themes however you will need to purchase it or one of our other themes that has it as a bundled plugin.

    Hope this helps.

However if there is anything else create a new ticket.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

Hi Sean.  Was playing around with the slide and actually figured it out.  Here is the solution in case anyone else has the same issue.  While the "fix" is easy, it's not explicit as it should be in the slider detail.

If you go to the actual slider and edit, under the video path field there's an option for video preview image.  That image will actually be displayed on mobile devices where video auto-play is not compatible.

Would have been a much easier find if the the "Video Preview Image" said something like "Video Preview / Fallback Image" instead.

No need for additional Revolution slider plug in or css-code.  Now the website displays an image on mobile devices instead of a big empty white space where the video would play on the desktop.
