BUT Now when the page loads it won't let me scroll using the mouse. You have to navigate to the side tab to scroll manually, do you know anything about this?
It is possible that something has not been installed/adjusted correctly, or it can be that some 3rd party plugin causes this issue.
Try to deactivate all of your plugins to make sure they are not causing this issue. If the issue goes away, then you can enable them one by one to find out which one is causing the issue.
Also it is possible that something within that slider's settings is causing this issue on your end, because scroll works fine beyond the slider area.

How do I edit the background of this testimonials space?
and how do I get rid of the that sidebar on the right? It shows up when I push the menu button

1. Go to the page backend and in Testimonials settings you can set/change image here:
2. Go to the Appearance > Widgets and there you can find this side area opener:
Remove it.

If you look here at my screenshot, there is not the same option. The image doesn't show up as an option to change.
