I have a question/suggestion. In their effort to combat fake news, Google News has announced the Google News Initiative (GNI). Just the other day, they sent out an article from their official blog, How to Succeed on Google News.
To make a long story short, structured data via Schema.org is now more important than ever, and they want the post meta to be between the title and the post image/articleBody content. For newsroom, it is above the title.
So, my suggestion is to move it, and my question is what is the easier way to address it for the time being. Is there a filter, or do we have to change the parent theme code?

I'm not aware of the filter function that can change the layout of the post and I suggest to make these changes directly in theme templates files that are located in
wp-content\themes\newsroom\framework\modules\blog

We followed those instructions for a fix that works, and will just have to keep an eye on it when the theme updates.
In case others want to know, it was a simple swap. I left the line commented out in the screenshot so it is easy to discern which lines we switched.
Go to blog-functions.php --> function newsroom_elated_get_single_title_html on line 659 --> swap out the meta and title, and that's it. Now the meta is under the title, between the body as Google News requested.
