I've got a problem with the translation of the countdown labels (month, day, hour, etc). When I change the label name into my language (german) the singular term is still displayed in english.

This is inside of the core plugin. Note that when translating labels from plugins, you will generate files like domain-RU.mo and domain-RU.po. And you need to rename these to follow this example: core-plugin-ru_RU.mo and core-plugin-ru_RU.po.
