I tried to translate the WP Bakery Element “Portfolio List” but wasn’t able to translate the “All” and “Show More” Text from the filter and show more button.
My used Software for this is PoEdit. Unfortunately, the translated text is present in the Plugin Textdomain “eltd_core”. But no matter what i tried, the translated Files in the /wp-content/plugins/eltd-core/languages weren’t working.
Used filename as per Wordpress i18n Definition is: eltd-core-de_DE.po and .mo
I even tried the Plugin “Loco Translate” as i had very good experiences in the past with this plugin.
But when after i tried to create a Translation for the Plugin it created a File with only 3 Translations. It turned out it didn’t load the eltd_core textdomain. Instead it loaded the “correct” eltd-core textdomain.
Wordpress Plugin Textdomains MUST be written exactly the same as the plugin folder name present in the /wp-content/plugins/ – therefore “eltd-core” not “eltd_core”.
I therefore replaced all the text-domains in the plugin from “eltd_core” with “eltd-core”, changed the loaded plugin textdomain in the “main.php” to “eltd-core” and now PoEdit AND Loco Translate Entries are working correctly!
Thank you very much for this suggestion. I'll add this to our dev list for potential new features and suggestions and our project manager will decide further about it. Hope this will be implemented in some next update. Once again, thanks for this.
