    Hi,

On all 102 single portfolio pages, the related projects never change. It is always the same 4 images, which strangely adopt the categories of the above single portfolio while hovering over it (see screenshot).

I found out that when I remove the overall tag "Levende standbeelden" in a single portfolio page, it shows the right images and categories.

It seems the tag is dominant over the categories in displaying the related projects.

Is there some code we can change/add to make the categories more dominant over tags?

    Thanks,
    Janneke

    Hi there Janneke,

This would require some custom coding and we are not in the position to take any kind of additional work. Thanks for understanding. I can provide you path where you can find that function. You can change the function for the related portfolio items on this path:

    \wp-content\plugins\sahel-core\post-types\portfolio\helper-functions.php

Please note that from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, May 5 many of our employees will be on leave due to the Easter and Labour Day holidays.

Because of this, there might be a slight delay in ticket replies. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause.  We will be back in full capacity on Monday, May 6.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Best regards,

    Marie

    Hi Marie,

Thank you. I'm no programmer but I removed the following lines from helper-functions.php; this seems to display the related categories instead of tags:

            //Get tags

    $tags = wp_get_object_terms( $post_id, 'portfolio-tag' );

Unfortunately, the categories displayed while hovering over the 4 images are always the same categories as the above single portfolio, not their real categories (see screenshot) and https://livingsculptures.com/living-statue/002-vincent-van-gogh-en/.  I wrote about this a long time ago but there's still no answer.

    Thanks in advance,
    Janneke

    Hi,

My point (even without tags) is, the wrong categories are displayed while hovering over the related projects.

This doesn't seem to be a custom wish, it should be that correct categories are displayed.
One more time the screenshots. I have the feeling you don't understand what basic question I ask.

In the first screenshot 002 Vincent van Gogh you see 4 related projects all with the same categories as Vincent van Gogh himself: Art, Color, History. But these aren't their real categories.

For example, the categories of related project 094 Flower Lady are: Bronze, History, Prize winning, see second screenshot.

So the wrong categories are displayed while hovering over them. I really hope you can see what basic thing I mean.

    Thanks,
    Janneke

    Hello there,

I apologize for the late reply, we have been getting a lot of messages daily and are trying our best to keep up with every request. I hope you can understand.

The reason this is happening is that the function that gives the related posts and portfolio items also takes into account tags of those items. So if you'd like this behavior to change you will have to change the following two files with the two files attached below:

    wp-content\plugins\sahel-core\post-types\portfolio\templates\single\parts\related-posts.php

    and

    wp-content\plugins\sahel-core\post-types\portfolio\helper-functions.php

Once you replace these files the related posts shown will only be chosen using their categories.

Or you could use tags more selectively to influence the list shown a little bit more.

Hope this helps if there is anything else that we can help you with please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

    Sean
