The first thing to say is that the template is very attractive and has many options, but I am not able to program the filter by attribute to be shown in the sidebar.

In order to setup the Filter by Atribute widget within the shop sidebar you need to address a few things:
First, navigate to Appearance > Widgets > Shop widget area > and add the Filter Products by Attribute > and set it up as in the image below:
Second, you need to navigate to the shop page in question, edit it, scroll to Elated Sidebar and set it as in the image below where you choose the Widget Area In Sidebar to be the one where you in the previous step added the filter widget:

The issue is with woocommerce. I have tested this on your website and on our local version and the issue is not linked with our theme.
We have reported the issue with them and as soon as they release an updated version of the plugin containing the fix we will include it in our update as well. You can follow our update logs here:
