    Hi there,

I have previously used the Elision theme for my website and am looking to re-work with another of your themes 'Imogen'. I have created a large number of portfolio objects in Elision theme, is there anyway of importing those projects into the new Imogen theme?

I have managed the import of pages and blog items with a limited amount of success.

    TIA

    Hi there,

Welcome to your support management and thank you for choosing our theme!

You should be able to navigate to Tools > Export > and select the portfolio option within your Elision theme. (see image in link) https://www.screencast.com/t/hsgkhNiuGzo8

And within your Imogen theme navigate to Tools > Import > WordPress option Install now and Run Importer > then choose the file you have just exported. (see image in link)

Hope this helps! If there is anything else that we can help you with please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Sean

The Elated core plugin (v1.2) is installed and activated and was before. This did not resolve the problem, sorry?

It seems as though this is due to the fact that the custom portfolio post type slugs are different. You could use the file below which when unpacked is an export file of the imogen portfolio and swap any differences in portfolio slugs by searching for instance for portfolio within the elision export file and changing all similar occurrences with the corresponding ones from the file below.

Hope this helps and if there is anything else that we can assist you with please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

    Sean

To be honest I am not sure what you are suggesting I do.

I have gone through the xml that you have sent through comparing it to the one that I have exported and all seems similar except for contents of <wp:postmeta> tags which to me is logical if it s coming from a different theme.

removing these <wp:postmeta> tags from the export file makes no difference the portfolio object continues to fail to import.

The suggestion was that you change all the custom post type names to the appropriate ones. Since the Elision themes portfolio post types have the portfolio-page slug and the imogen theme has this set to portfolio-item. These subtle differences are the reason the import is not working and so you will need to go through these and make sure each one is changed to the slug that the imogen theme can recognize.

So you'd have to go through every occurrence of the portfolio-page slug for example in the file you want to import and change it to portfolio-item, and continue with the portfolio category post type next.

If this doesn't work you could try the suggestions from this article:

Hope this helps and if there is anything else that we can assist you with please don't hesitate to ask.
