I have the same issue and your response doesn't answer the question. How can you access the slider? I added a featured photo and nothing happens. There is not a slider section under "elated options". I see in the post section that I can choose landscape or portrait but the slider/carosel does not show up. How can I get the slider to appear on my front page? Thank you.

Allure theme is Blog theme, so there is no Portfolio custom post type here... Carousel is disabled as well...
You just have carousel type Blog slider like in main demo: http://allure.elated-themes.com/ and slider type Blog slider: http://allure.elated-themes.com/elite/
