I just bought the template and would like to know if it is possible to combine the "split column" layout, that can be chosen in the blog-settings of elated options (on the screenshot, its the left version called vogue) with the slider, that can be seen on the demo version catwalk? If I chose to have a static homepage, I can use the slider but find no option for the split column layout - if I chose to show my recent blog entries on the homepage and have no static page, I can't get a slider, bevause there is no page, where I could paste the slider-shortcode.

You just have to paste slider shortcode to provided field in page options: http://screencast.com/t/h4DcyYqaV You can create slider on some test page using Visual Composer, and just adjust attributes to fit your needs: http://screencast.com/t/x11qtthIGVwS , http://screencast.com/t/dbbquA8d and than just switch to classic mode and copy that slider shortcode to provided field in your page options: http://screencast.com/t/PU8VgXl20yX Image size: You can choose for each image if you want it to be shown as landscape or as portrait in blog slider: http://screencast.com/t/fMmYgRgn and if you want it lanscape, than uploaded featured image has to be larger than 822x545px and for portrait, uploaded image has to be larger than 365x545px. If uploaded image is already larger than that and it doesn't fit in slider, you have to regenerate thumbnails using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
