Yes, it's missing rule for targeting only title located on home page. Your code is targeting all titles, including category name on archive pages, as you have described already.
So, fixed CSS is as follows, replace previous one:

I am trying to hide the site title from home page but when i inserted this custom css:
.eltd-title-holder {
It hided the category title as well. Is my custom css code missing something?display:none!important;
