    Hi Team,

I have 2 question on how to set it up.

    1. Currently I have several categories. For example: beauty, fashion, lifestyle and so on. Their URLs look like this: http://deninamartin.com/beauty/ my question is how to get the category link include a "category base" before the actual category so it can look like this: http://deninamartin.com/category/beauty/

    http://deninamartin.com/category/fashion/

    http://deninamartin.com/category/lifestyle/

    2. Is it possible to have a "Blog layout" in categories different from the home page. The current blog layout for home page is set to Blog standard. I would like to keep it and at the same time display blog layout "two columns" in  all categories.

    Thank you,

    Regards,

    Denina

    Hi Denina,

    1) You can adjust permalinks in Settings > Reading section. But as I can see, you've already solved this issue.

    2) Archives and category layout can be adjusted in Elated Options > Blog: http://screencast.com/t/vrARKTVbrNxv

    Hi,

Yes I have solved the first issue but I think you misunderstood my second question. What I am trying to achieve is to have two different layouts on the site. Home page to be in "Blog: Standard layout" like the way it is right now and change the /categories/ in "Blog: two columns"

Please let me know if this can be modified.

    Thanks,

    Regards,

    Denina

    Hi Denina,

No, I understand it perfectly, but I missed that you set your home page to be blog page, so it acts like archive and because of that this option affect your home page as well...

So, this is how you can achieve what you need.

    1) Create new page and for page template choose standard blog: http://screencast.com/t/K72rrK0Fkkr and than in Settings > Reading section set that page as static front page: http://screencast.com/t/D37QZN1Qw

Also, adjust sidebar options in that page options: http://screencast.com/t/4fYNdiBM9

    2) After that you can adjust categories layout in Elated Options > Blog and that won't affect your home page.
