Commercial themes on Theme Forest offers advanced functionality, and usual practice is to release a theme which is WPML compatible, and Moose theme supports WPML plugin. Regarding free plugins, although you will certainly find some of them which will work, but it is important to know that you won't be able to translate meta boxes for page / portfolio options with any of these plugins and that is why WPML plugin have to be used.
Also when page animations are tuned on, header and footer will not be reloaded, so when using translation plugins, it is important to set page transition to no animation from Elated options > General.

We have your Moose Theme and are having problems getting the Globus multi-language plugin to work nicely with it.
Although the language flags can be added to the top nav menu, it does not switch to the other language pages.
Can you recommend a free multi language plugin that works with your Moose Theme? Thanks
